If you have a poor phenotype, you're never actually going to be a Winner in real life, barring exceptional circumstances. Over time, it became obvious to people with poorer phenotypes that they had a much better chance at being Somebody Online than they would ever have IRL
This had a snowballing effect as more and more people realized this and turned Online rather than to IRL. Now we're at the point where the people who actually have good phenotypes are *also* Online, but they're posting pics and short form videos of themselves in order to advertise their superior phenotypes for status
I actually wrote about this same phenomenon like...over 10 years ago. Not about the phenotype aspect, but about 21st century Online providing alternative social ecosystems that "compete" with IRL that are more/less attractive to certain people and groups based on their characteristics and preferences |

It's far more "blackpilling" than any particularities about the world, which mostly aren't meaningful or interesting
