Answer would be the same for any amount between $20k and $5M. Below $20k, you'd need to make some tough choices what to spend and how to get back on your feet, while making the money stretch until you have a decent income. Above $5M, I could retire and live a UMC life. |

Along the lines of what's in the op, if I'm 22 and just finished college, I'd (a) hie to somewhere with opportunities to do something interesting for a few years (white water rafting guide, bar tend and try to make it as a musician in LA or Nashville...) then (b) after a few years, decide if I stick with that or move to somewhere where I can have a more stable job. |
