Something planned with her family before we broke up. One of the weirder experiences of my life. Couldn’t take to the subordinate most of last week. Too watched. It’s strange seeing your life still there waiting to be occupied.

I'm a little bored by this arc of the story but can't wait to get to the discovery alienation and firing part.

Things that happened on the trip.

1. On the flight, she got rip roaring drunk and decided she’d no longer be a mom. I had to carry the kid around for 6 hours. The good news is a cute stewardess took pity on me and flirted with me, holding him some. An old woman made the comment to my wife that it must be nice to have such an attentive husband. This enraged my wife and she took the stroller at gate and all checked bags and started wandering off the wrong direction. Also on the flight she would drunkenly mutter or yell that this is her life daily and welcome to the club as the kid cried.

2. She continued drinking around family. Quickly downed a bottle of wine and then when I said I wanted to go to bed she wanted to go on a walk. Parents told me they’d watch the kid so I could sleep. Three hours later they knocked on my door. Wife still not back and not answering phone. I feed him a bottle and he falls asleep. She comes home drunk 10 min later and starts yelling about why my mom would message her when the dad is in the house. Banged on my door several times at night. Whole house could hear her.

3. Randomly shouted out rude comments like “how nice you can be” in dripping sarcasm and resentment when I was being nice with family. For example, I got my mom an ice cream treat that she said she really likes.

She tried and succeeded at making the trip miserable but it actually makes me feel a lot better about falling in love with the subordinate. I’ve been really nice with her financially so far (still fund a big home for her and her living expenses), but that’s about to change soon. We’ve only been married for a short time, she won’t get much. And even if she did I don’t really care at this point. Will be good to just be formally severed and not have so much commingled with her other than our son. And just need to get him on a real custody plan and not this ad hoc stuff.

It was my family. It was prescheduled before the breakup. I wanted my mom to get to see my son. She has health problems and can’t come to us. My wife refuses to allow my son to fly alone with me. Which is laughable since she’s totally useless and a net negative because whenever I’m around him at the same time as her she wants to “punish” me with childcare and refuses to help anyway.
