His parents are already split up. That's hard enough. But introducing him to a new woman? I think it would hurt him.
As for his mother I don't think she is introducing him to any "man". She certainly hasn't yet.

you are doing the right thing. when i split up with my wife, i insisted on having the kids meet the woman i left her for within like two months. she fought me on it, but of course i didn't listen.
they got to know her and got fairly attached to her son (much older than them, and lives hundreds of miles away), so i'm sure that wasn't great when we split up and i got back together with their mom. they'd hve been better off thinking i was single the whole time.
