The defense lawyers entire strategy in the first trial was to delay and bore the jurors to death. The judge was pathetic and let the trial get out of hand with so much evidence that no sane person could follow it. Then you had the cop who had to take the stand and explain why he texted someone that he was scrolling through her photos looking for nudes. Totally discredited him.
Local cops, judge deserve most of the blame. Maybe better prosecutors see through the BS and try and speed up the first trial. The second trial was absolutely DOA with zero enthusiasm from the prosecution. They appeared defeated from day 1. Stillborn prosecution.
Yes she got away with murder and the state look like clowns. California crimdef look like big swinging dicks for pulling off this Hail Mary. True Crime podcast shrews standing outside the courtroom should be gassed. |
