He sold their house and they were going to split to proceeds. The week before closing I found him passed out and the house completely trashed - bottles everywhere and holes in the walls. He had acute alcohol poisoning and was hospitalized for five days.
His brother and I fixed up the house and they still closed and he got $150k in cash. He spent $40k on rehab and just got out last week.
This morning he texts me “Is Kalshi legit? it looks like you can bet on anything!”
I don’t think his hundred grand is c’in Christmas.
