Spent $1,900 and now I’m looking at Tudors and Rolexes.

I hate being impulsive, gay, and retarded.

What I bought.

Nope. I’ve wasted so much money on short lived hobbies over the years, none of them brought me joy.

XO is at least partially responsible for several thousand dollars of pointless purchases.

It may surprise you to learn the Santos is the ORIGINAL pilot watch.

"The Cartier Santos is widely considered the first purpose-built pilot's watch and men's wristwatch, created in 1904 by Louis Cartier for Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Designed for legibility and hands-free timekeeping in the air..."

CR.

I don't wear watches because everyone else has a time-keeping device, negating my personal need for such a thing. (I've also never cared for jewelry.)

I wear a watch to have a convenient way to check the time without having to rely on my phone. My $45 Timex gets the job done with extreme accuracy, and the battery will last for years.

Hmm... I'm obviously not a watch guy, but if a $10k watch were, say, literally hit with a hammer (or commensurate damage), wouldn't it cost around $10k to fix it?

What are the most expensive parts of a watch to fix or replace?

I am finally dipping my toes in the watch world after resisting all my life. Wearing an Apple Watch daily for as long as I did is my biggest prole tell, and my wife much prefers me to wear something nicer.

There’s a lot of good stuff to work with between $50 and $5k, friend.
