venue has an exclusive alcohol vendor that we have to use.
vendor has a price list.
we booked the venue on reliance of the vendor's alcohol price list.
vendor's prices increased since we booked the venue.
we haven't signed a contract yet with the vendor.
issues:
1) do we have a claim against the vendor to the lower prices?
2) do we have any recourse against the venue in that we relied on the vendor's prices in booking them?

i think:
1) no, because we didnt have a signed contract with the vendor. they can raise their prices as they see fit. they owe us no duty to honor previous prices.
2) don't think we'd be able to sue the venue for damages, but we'd have a weak claim to get out of the contract with the venue bc the bar is impracticable. but we dont want to get out of the venue.

you said you didn't sign a contract
just tell their sales-woman you've been working with that you aren't happy with the increase in drinks prices and will choose a different venue
they will concede the drink prices
we're done here

you have the facts wrong. to clarify:
we havent signed a contract with the alcohol vendor.
we've signed a contract with the venue long ago.
we're required to use this alcohol vendor.
the wedding venue specifies that this vendor is their exclusive alcohol vendor.
hope that helps.

lol how much of a kickback do you think the venue is getting from the bar from fucking you? you really think this is the first time they've done this?
i hope you didn't make a deposit already
if not tell them you're canceling, if they have a problem tell them they can talk to your lawyer, the end.
don't let these fucking scammers scam you.

yeah i'm sure it's just a coincidence that the price went up when they have your deposit and your wedding is imminent
real coincidental like
threaten legal action, find another venue and fight for deposit if they won't compromise on the bar price, and no matter what happens leave bad google/yelp reviews about this because them nickel and diming you on one or two grand really ought to cost them hundreds of grand in the long run in lost business and is probably the best way to get even
and don't for a second think this is an accident, there is greed and malintent at play
