there is literally no peak so high that a helicopter cannot simply show up with some fast-ropers and conquer the summit in a few hours from the nearest base. this was proven decisively by 2005. the existence of high-altitude drones only makes this situation worse.

after such knowledge, why climb? health, adventure, etc. - sure. but those are PERSONAL rationales. you can no longer bring glory to the world generally through climbing, since some jackass in a chopper could simply bypass you if he really wished.
