"alt right" people stopped caring about these critiques because even prior to the inception of an "alt right" political group these critiques were applied unevenly and only towards right wing causes while the makers ignored or outright denied, insulting viewer intelligence and observational agency in the process, instances of same-such occurring from left-wingers really only so many times that you can hear "okay but have you considered being a decent fucking person?" in regards to not wanting your family members raped and killed by migrants or minorities or what have you without realizing that, for these sorts, it's less about the things being debated and more about a snarling expression of power through a perverse norm, but this is an aside to the point i'm making above |

Date: July 9th, 2025 6:06 PM Author: turquoise fragrant library juggernaut i'd have to guess that fuentes found his limits pretty early on with what internet "reach" could actually do and decided to do what he could as far as having his platform being a hub for like-minded people to congregate, which is fine enough he wants to work within the system but not many on even the more extreme manifestations on the right don't; if you try to do anything but you run up against all sorts of walls---some of which, these are things few will believe you on---very, very quickly and you will find that top-down donor money will no longer be accessible for you i don't think he's particularly serious either but he does "okay" as a touchstone on the road to something different. i find what he's done impressive in the sense that his following is constituted of mostly organic youth support and that he wasn't afraid to fire off against trump during the 2024 election (and still is, i think). the "tradcath" stuff is kind of silly and artificial (traditional? catholicism? 🤣) and i don't take that super seriously no matter who's into it. religious chauvinism is unfortunately a non-starter in the US due to whatever you'd call what the "culture of women" here has mutated into. not to be a doomer or whatever but i think and have found that the market liberal system that oversees what can and can't be done in US politics is much more "total" and profuse than people just getting into politics seem to think. the only real group with enough elite and institutional support to break free atm are DSA types, and while i hate zohran's gay race communism policy i still hope that he wins so that *something* other than "more money for rich people" political policy is happening in the US and especially on the east coast. |
