One of the warrants was supported with a deliberately altered piece of evidence. the FBI lawyer who altered evidence got a small slap on the wrist and is once again practicing law. no other lawyers suffered any consequences. |

the notion that Page needed to be, or even could legally be, the subject of a FISA warrant was complete bullshit. it was nasty. it was fraud. not only is there is not a single person in the world who will now say that any of the four applications was warranted or appropriate, but everyone agrees the applications were bogus.
it was part of a program during which the FBI, DOJ, and IC targeted everyone who'd been mentioned as a possible Trump advisor. it was the IC's way of getting a two-jump wiretap that would include Trump himself. (that is, under the fraudulent warrants LEO could intercept anyone who communicated with Page and anyone who communicated with anyone who communicated with Page. because Page was speaking with people in Trump's campaign, that means LEO was wiretapping Donald Trump, his family, and all his top advisors.)
the FBI and DOJ were required to make full disclosure in the application of everything they knew that might bear on the merits of the application. but the FBI/DOJ had a problem: the CIA sent an email to the FBI describing Page as a good and reliable source for them. so, the FBI lawyer just altered that email so the judge reviewing the application wouldn't see that. an FBI lawyer altered evidence and wasn't disbarred. the judge who sentenced the FBI lawyer, Boasberg, is a toadie for the IC.
as an aside, there was a moron named Popodopolous (sp?) who was also targeted. someone working for the IC gave Pop $15,000 in cash as a consulting fee shortly before he flew back to the US. Andrew Weissman, who masterminded the play, was waiting at Dulles with LEO to arrest Pop for failing to declare cash in excess of $10,000 or to charge him with structuring if he took back an amount under $10,000. but Pop had left the cash behind with his Greek lawyer. it was a set-up. sadly for Pop when questioned by the feds he told a small lie and was forced to cop to a crime. Page was a completely different case. |
