Why do so many near-death experiences report people experiencing things in such a higher resolution... it's almost as if our current existence is a low-resolution experience with fewer consequences, and it seems like we are not only evolving but proving ourselves capable for a higher resolution existence with presumably greater consequences after death.

For those that have failed this test and have demonstrated their will to go against God, they are sent to oblivion. Yet, God does not make Himself completely apparent -- he does not dominate our will, he allows us to choose and provides positive, slight direction and pressure towards the right way to live, so that maybe after death, we will have evolved and proven ourselves capable of joining Him and serving Him for eternity.

With everything we see -- the countless religious experiences / miracles that are inexplicable, with the positive direction in our souls, with the near-death experiences, with the timeless visitations from other beings (theorized by Jacque Vallee to be pushing us in a direction of unity and evolution), it seems likely that after death, we go to join God and bask in his light, serving Him.

"Why do so many near-death experiences report people experiencing things in such a higher resolution?"

A release of DMT in the brain. /thread

Read this book and tell me it's DMT -- there's no way -- these people are reporting things and seeing things that are impossible unless they were actually floating outside of their body -- this is confirmed by very well-respected doctors across the world.

They are experiencing things that are indicative of the way they've lived their lives, that have similarities going beyond cultural norms and have seen things that are inexplicable based on current science.

To just say this is simply a DMT trip is very foolish.

If they are outside of their bodies in a non physical plane, then how are they bringing memories and knowledge of this existence back to their body? What’s the mechanism for that? It seems much more likely that what they experienced and have memory of was a result of something happening in their brains.

If you read the book, it contains stories where there was no way the people could have known what the know coming back. Apparently, the common experience is that some people float outside of their body and can see things that would require physically traveling and then sometimes they go to join a great light and sometimes they go back into their bodies to continue their lives.

for fuck's sake, why even appeal to authority with the "doctor's" book above if that's what you believe?

The doctor, an atheist, takes a scientific account of many near-death experiences (he has probably studied this area more than others), and determines commonalities across cultures that indicate a great presence of love as well as other things that have great similarities to Christ -- furthermore, many people directly experience Christ after death. That's why.

They are actually quite different. DMT experiences result in people seeing weird shit with elves, etc.

Near-death experiences often-times have people joining what they see as "God" via a great light of love, etc. They see their family members, etc.

your desire to believe this is just your survival instinct run amok. you know you can’t defeat death so you imagine that existence continues, then you come up with all these explanations to convince yourself you’re probably correct, then you come here seeking validation of those explanations from other in a effort to (hopefully) reinforce them since you have doubts. but deep down you know. we all do.

I think it's the opposite. Deep-down, many of us, including myself, wish that we could live sinful lives without consequence, which would be the case if death were the end.

It is much more challenging and painful to embrace the theory that there is an afterlife and our choices in this life have great consequences, even when we must suffer because of them.

It is much more likely that reality is what it appears to be. Anything else is just fantastical theorizing that can’t be engaged with on a rational basis.

Agreed, but then how do you account for the multitude of inexplicable religious miracles, people sacrificing themselves for their belief in God (counter to evolutionary behavior), near-death experiences, etc. My point is that the most rational explanation for this reality is that God is real and this life is something less than the after-life.

I find it hard to take NDEs seriously, but it's not implausible that late empire America is a spiritual thunderdome and most people have no idea how intense it's going to get.
