from the outside I looked like a good kid, didn't get into trouble often, valedictorian, standardized test prodigy, etc. but I was very angry and misbehaved at home a lot. my mom doesn't remember but one time she said, "I'd prefer if you were like [friend]'s son and doing drugs and getting in trouble instead of being so mean to us" lmao :(
but I chilled out in my 20s, got comfortable in my skin, and am now a normal, positive, sociable person |

This is the sort of ignominy that Losers can delay until they try to get a job or something. No one has ever written an NYT article about failing 7th grade. In little league you have people throwing balls directly at your head on purpose when you’re like 9 and it’s considered Normal. It’s the sort of thing that’s easier to handle when you’re older but you do it when you’re 9. |
