i paid $190 new on ebay. but the whole point was to get something lightweight that could hold a few clubs for practice sessions. i already have a full sized bag for rounds.

there are few options for this type of bag, most are in the $100 range. it's a bit of a splurge for sure, just like the way it looks.

This has proven to be a bit of a pain in the ass but it's incremental to the usual stocking of the bag before a round. Adds but a minute or two. I have multiple sets of gloves, tees, etc., so it's just the clubs.

Looked into sub 3 lb bags and they seem dumb imo. There's no room for shoes, launch monitor, range finder, or cleaning accessories, and single strap is 120.

If you're only bringing a few clubs to range you don't need any bag.

OP's bag is designed for fancy men walking a course with 6 clubs. That's fucking terrible.

Get a push cart with a normal bag or a motorized cart if you're too weak to push/carry a normal bag.

Main reason is much easier to identify and grab one, safer to rest it on wood floor inside house or take practice swings without smashing the wall or furniture by accident.

It's amazing how much swing weight an iron cover adds.

Or I'll grab a few and throw in trunk for driving range and covers allow me to rest them on ground against club stand without any bag.

Tertiary reason is that I HATE the sound of metal clinking when carrying/carting bag over hills. That was only partially solved by my silencer bag

I live in the golf capital of USA. CCs within 15 miles are exorbitant and/or have a 1 year+ waiting list. I have a fiberbuilt grass series and 8 foot spornia net, and also hit off regular grass in my yard nightly.

But tbh I doubt the average CC player in SoCal is better than at any public course. The only benefit of CC is tee times and not having 8 people waiting in front of you at every tee.

Are you in SoCal? Did you see the Dave Fink thing about some sort of organized Korean tee time scalping where they'd buy up all the tee times and sell them at a markup?

Yeah but I'm in OC and that only affected LAmos. There was an article in the LA times and LA munis changed reservation system to combat this. Now you have to wake up at like 6am on the dot to book a desirable tee time.

golf capital of the USA is the northeast. SoCal is just an overpriced hellhole. tee times, fast greens/nicer courses, access to other clubs that also have nicer courses, and grass ranges are the big things.

I started keeping trail elbow super tight to body last week, shortened my take back, and completely stopped doing heel rise/stomps with lead foot.

Also stopped firing my hips at the target to initiate down swing, and just "roll" my entire body weight from trail to lead foot now, letting arms follow and just do their thing naturally

Results have been spectacular

Do you do it for driver too, or just irons (trail elbow tucked against side)?

I try to do the exact same full swing for every club (minus swinging up vs down for driver). I could see myself bringing back the heel stomp in future for select usage (ie, dick swing contests). But I really need to nail down a repeatable swing because I'm sick of looking for my ball on the course.

Went at 7 am yesterday and got sunburned bigly. I feel like even though it’s hotter in the afternoon the sun not being as bright is a bfd.

That said had my best day ever. I took 6 group lessons when I started in November but have since been adding one thing at a time from YouTube. Ran into my old instructor yesterday and asked him to look at my swing, he said it was night and day. He did say I was standing too far back for my irons and fixing that would help, it was a good call. 7 iron going straight about 150 now.

You need to learn about getting forward shaft lean from your irons setup/stance IMHO.

If you can hit wedges but struggle with irons I'm guessing it's because the higher loft forces your hands to be way in front of ball at setup. When you setup regular irons, straighten both arms with club head in front of ball and slightly farther out than impact to confirm correct distance from feet and ball placement.

Both arms need to be straight at same time after impact and doing above helps align for an inside-out swing path. Your hands should always be in front of ball at setup unless you're hitting driver.

cr though it’s hard to say what the difference would be for a beginner using off the rack stuff vs the numbers for that guy who’s probably fitted into a driver optimized for premium balls

a beginner still might lose 5 mph ball speed but the spin and launch #s might actually be better for what they’re using.
