I like a lot of art and culture from Japan but I honestly have no idea why people love Ghibli. It does seem kid oriented. I honestly can't sit through one of these snoozefests without passing out. Nothing to keep the attention span going. Again I have never explicitly disliked anything about them in particular but also never understood the hype. Whatever it's just not for me.
I know people who will die on a hill defending Totoro as Great Art though and I just don't get that attitude. |

They're "kids movies" in the sense that kids love them but they have universal and timeless themes and great characters, animation, and stories.
