I actually spent like 6 months working on a project but it was extremely research heavy and still had a lot of obstacles that seemed impossible or difficult to solve so I kind of burned out on it. I'm thinking it would be best to exploit some kind of high leverage hidden but low hanging fruit. But I've been in this mood everything I think of or look at sounds like shit. Been dragging my feet on the substack thing too, but have been working on my first three essays slowly. To me thats still a stretch though because the platform is so oversaturated, but I think its worth a try. I'll think about it some more though. You basically create a probabilistic evidence ledger with tiered trust sources and continuous risk scoring (can include physical fingerprinting, chain-of-custody events etc.). I have seen a few versions of provenance services but they went all in on blockchain which is weak because noone needs to break the cryptography they just attack somewhere else at the binding between object and record.
