It's like this major justification for the righteous indignation they have felt their entire lives popped out of nowhere. They typically have no connection to the Ukrainian people or the Slavic world. They would never admit that the tensions with Russia were escalated by the CIA and the State Department and that most Ukrainians have no idea when exactly they became a sovereign state nor why. Neoconservatism really gives people this carte blanche to feel like they are on the right side of history and also that the only solution is to kill the enemy to death. I think it taps into something really primal. It's what George Bush did for years to stay in power. Make everything black and white. It reminds me of the Reagan library. All these references to a clash of right and wrong, good and evil. It's about getting the bad guy. Scooby and the gang catching the crook. I think it really taps into that for some people and from what I've seen from Ukrainecucks they have nothing else going in their lives.
