Took my kids fishing, had to constantly put worms on hooks since they were getting lot of nibbles. As I’m hooking a worm on a hook for one of my kids across the dock, my other kid catches a fish. Before I can get over there, the fish wiggles off the hook and into the water. My wife, standing there w her phone in hand looks at me and is like “you didn’t get a picture!” On a dock w like 6 other ppl, lol.

One of my kids goes to the bathroom at one of the parks 10 feet away from me and she freaks out like my kid (age 11) is going to get kidnapped or lost bc I didn’t follow him to the bathroom. Proceeds to yell at me and start a panicked search for 5 minutes before my kid walks out of the bathroom back to where we were just standing. She calls me and says “ I found him” like she’d done a search and rescue mission and found him, overcoming my negligent parenting.

I went to pee once and before I made it to one of the shows at animal kingdom, it started and ended, so I missed the 5 min video w the fam. Next day, she intentionally decides not to go see the 30 min beauty and the beast performance w us because she wanted popcorn, allegedly. My daughter was furious at her for missing and brought it up at the end of the day. In response my wife is like why didn’t you get mad at perfect daddy for missing the video? My daughter is like he didn’t do it on purpose and I’m sitting right here having to defend myself in a fight between my wife and daughter.

When I told her she was behaving like a shrew, she sort of stopped some but she’s nuts.

In my wife's very limited vocabulary it's "narcissist" and gaslighting" ignoring that she is the one employing both tactics.
