ultimately it comes down to IQ and cognitive testing only being able to measure objective, falsifiable things and those things tending to align with autistic intelligence. it's very difficult to measure EQ, creativity, etc.
the majority of employees at apple, tesla, etc. are probably smarter in terms of IQ than jobs and musk. yet in a room with them you'd be hard pressed to call them "smarter." AI is scoring 140+ on the WAIS already yet it's not very "smart" and really struggles with writing beyond perfect technical proficiency. |

He was saying it's called Artificial Intelligence because it's intelligent not because it can do creative problem solving or advanced cognition or something. But "tend to be very autistic and pretty shit at writing" is false. Leibniz likely had one of the highest IQs of all time and he was unusually lucid and multilingual. He wrote fluently in Latin, French, and German. Plato is another one that comes to mind for sure, arguably one of the greatest writers of all time. Gauss's Disquisitiones is arguably brilliant writing but not the most readable. Bertrand Russell and Poincare are pretty clean examples of geniuses with elegant and readable writing. Also Grothendieck is clearly one of the highest geniuses of all time and he is the primary person responsible for bringing natural language argument into mathematical construction/proofs.
