They're not in trouble.
We're in trouble for having to fund their 30 years of retirement and Medicare.

Do you think it's a bit disingenuous to argue both that baby boomers are better set up for retirement and then also that they are so poor that gen exers are forced to financially support their aging boomer parents? I think he also vastly overstates the extent to which the average boomer is collecting on a big fat pension.
I think this "sandwich generation" term is a bit of a fiction. Gen Xers (especially older ones) were still lucky enough to get through college without taking on massive student loans. While this complains about supporting his adult children, in all likelihood, he didn't pay for his kid's education who is now starting out life 6 figures in debt and competing against AI for jobs. Let's project how the rest of their adult lives play out and see if this gen x sad sack still feelsl ike a victim.
