i don't have a cable plan, i only use my tv to watch live sports events on over-the-air networks or to cast sportsurge / torrented movies from my computer. would i get any value out of roku or an equivalent service without having to pay a monthly subscription?

i don't understand why anyone wants any of this streaming shit. all the "shows" people talk about on social media seem so uninteresting. i'd pay like $10-15 per month for access to espn and my local regional sports networks if i could get that as a standalone product but from what i can tell you're not getting espn for less than $30 and then just one rsn costs $25 alone, for one team. that's more than halfway to a full cable plan for just two channels lmao.
