You will be dropped off on a beach where a category 5 hurricane is going to make landfall. The point you're dropped at is the point that the eye will pass over.

You will be dropped 12 hours before the outer edge of the hurricane reaches the beach. And it will be the year 1500.

You can bring anything you want to bring, other than vehicles and structures.

If you survive 6 days, you'll be transported back to the present and given $7M tax free. Do you accept?

bug spray, knife, canteen, spare canteen, can of iodine tablets for water purification. jerky, dried fruit and protein bars (you can survive on very little food for 6 days). A solid set of weatherproof gear, including a blanket, and a separate change of clothes wrapped in dry bags and ziplocks. Small first aid kit with wraps and antibiotic cream.

12 hours before the outer band is like 30-36 hours before hurricane strength winds so you should be able to get several miles inland. Try to get on a small rise in elevation and look for an area with few large trees and debris. Dig in cover up with a blanket. The only real risk is the fortuitous debris smashing into you which is fairly unlikely. Just stay hunkered down.

After the hurricane passes it would just be insane boredom for 6 days. The weather always clears up significantly after the storm passes. Even if you're injured or hurt there's no reason you would die in less than a week. maybe I'd try to find the fountain of youth with my spare time idk

I guess it would be harder if you get dropped in at like 10:00 pm at night for a 10 am landfall, because it would be very slow going manuevering in the dark and that is the race against time to get inland before it hits.

You need to be very careful of flooding and the storm surge, especially given that you're probably going to be somewhere without much high ground.

the storm surge dissipates rapidly. as little as 1-2 miles inland, you're out of the very worst of it. given this hypo, even over broken or swampy ground you should be able to get a minimum of 6 miles within 12 hours given your light gear, hopefully more. if you're lucky enough to be on solid relatively open ground you could get double that, in which case the storm surge will be nothing. Don't get me wrong this will be a miserable experience no matter what but survivable knowing that you get magically rescued in 6 days.

I think this hypo would be better imo if you were dropped like 30 minutes before the outer bands. or if you were dropped on a relatively small island with nowhere to flee.
