Put some Duronaut on there and it will stay fresh for a long time, and you'll see temps drop right away. If your laptop has a noisy fan you won't hear it as much after to repaste the CPU. The guts in these devices are assembled at no-name shops that cut corners when they can, so they're using whatever thermal paste was on sale that week. Over time all thermal paste dries out and the fans will have to blow loud to compensate, it's really only a question of when.
