It's typical first marriage shit where they marry someone based on shared ambition/drive, etc. She sticks around while man builds business/career, motivates and encourages etc.

Man hits early to mid 40s, has sizeable net worth, divorces and first wife gets to cash out in some respects. They then date for 2-4 years before settling down again with someone 10-15 years younger and hotter.

I am considering literally doing this now as I'm coming up on 40 and my wife isn't getting any hotter. It's just really not worth having to deal with all her bullshit anymore when I could just date some 25 year old who thinks I'm rich.

No kids due to some serious health issues wife had that I've discussed on here before. She is considered too "high risk".

I've run some rough alimony calcs and it looks like if I "wait it out" and go another 4 years my alimony timeline effectively doubles. Things escalate very quickly after 10 years.

If I divorce now, I could gift her house outright which is roughly 1.7 mil and pay a couple years of alimony at several hundred grand a year, in exchange I'd be able to keep my biz. Technically alimony would be 5 years but transferring house over would offset some of that.

I'd be able to claim bulk of earnings over last several years were due to windfall type business events, but problem is I have several more of those in the pipeline.

If I wait even 4 more years to divorce it gets exponentially more expensive to leave for a multitude of reasons meaning I'll essentially be locked in forever. If I stay, we'd likely adopt children, increasing the locking in.

I'm a lolyer. I worked in shitlaw firms for like 5ish years before starting my own PI firm 5 years ago. Firm was profitable from day one but only in the under 250k range for first 2-3 years due to nature of contingency PI work.

Profitability has significantly increased in the last two years.

Wife had unknown defect necessitating emergency surgery and quite literally almost died. Afterwards, they said no kids due to underlying defect.

Wife has backed me and supported me from day 1 but it's also a constant battle with her and she can be difficult. We spent a year in couples therapy and couples therapist essentially said he didn't know what to do with us (mainly her) because of her reactivity.

In many ways I love her and we are codependent but have zero desire to fuck her anymore and imagine a much simpler life in the future than I think she wants.

Based on the above am considering ending marriage now. If I wait to try to "work it out" even for 4 years I'm catastrophically fucked financially.

It's more so I'm not really "in love" with my wife. Kinda just got dragged along and pushed into the marriage but despite that have grown to "love" her like any long term family member.

However, we don't have much compatibility sexually, her reactiveness is grating and causes me significant unnecessary stress. She's a busy body so my life is filled with unnecessary business.

I'm basically considering staying married and just cheating or banging hoookers. I've cheated in the past, she's aware of it and has given me a pass and likely would in the future.

OR divorce, live life on my own terms and date mid to late 20 year olds and i get to put off kid decision for another 4-5 years.

Wife isn't rushing the adoption thing, it's more if I decide to stay with her and we adopt in 3 years I'm already stuck regardless if that makes sense. Alimony increases at such a substantial rate that divorce would no longer be financially feasible.
