i'm 45. wife has a WFH sinecure making 100k. we have about $400k of equity in our house and $1.9 million in retirement accounts, as well as $150k in crypto.
two kids, 9 and 6 years old. have a total of about $250k in 529 accounts.
mortgage is $2800/mo. no plans on moving.
what is a chill jerb where i can just punch a clock and do whatever, making around 100k? does this exist?

do u have a local university?
they have tons of jobs that are pretty low demand and decent pay, they usually take anyone with a pulse too

i think about this every day.
i just need some job that pays roughly $100k and i'm good to go.
LMK if you find what you're looking for.
With advanced degrees you can get damn near or above $100k pretty quickly as a teacher. It's not easy though even if you are done at 3 and have summers off.

yea teaching seems terrible. i'm naturally introverted so that isn't a good fit.
i'll probably just keep doing this for at least 10 more years, but by that point i may have enough to just straight up retire.
for all this bullshit talk, i did nearly leave private practice to go work at the NLRB last year. i know the regional director in my city and i submitted an application and the RD called me asking me if i was for real. told me i had the job if i wanted it, but i'd have to go in as a GS11 or 12 (because that's all he had authorization for). i'd have been making $100k after a year or two, but decided that wasn't sufficient.
