The real answer is that the IOC gave a number of national olympic committees status years ago before their nations' status was formalized. These committees have been grandfathered in to the current day. PR has been an Olympic competitor since the 1950s. Same for Hong Kong - which has competed on its own under both UK and Chinese rule. Bermuda and the British Virgin Islands also have this status, you fucking reptile. |
