The reason being young kids would be close to grandparents, who would help a lot watching them, probably 2-3 days a week, and they’d create stronger bonds with their grandparents. That would be a massive help for us right not as we don’t live by any family. It would be to a smallish (couple hundred thousand) city.
Other pros: much cheaper housing. COL radically cheaper as well. More relaxed lifestyle all around. Good schools for cheap.
Cons: have my job here and I’d have to start all over. Not much going on (not that we need much going on) there. But there is an Opera. Friends here in the city I’ve lived in for 10+ years. Far less opportunity overall and that would effect the kids when they turn 18 and decide to leave (I hope).
Thought I’d never consider really moving back but not so sure now.
