Dang, most hostile statement I can recall reading from employees talking about their boss.

I understand the Congressional staff staying on – lots of people have assholes for bosses – but it's wild to keep working on a campaign you don't support.

I know a lot of Americans can't afford to go without work for two months, but somehow I doubt most of the people working for a political campaign fall into that group.

Most people working on campaigns are poor as shit redditor types who think they are all the next Josh Lyman and spend their late teens through their early 30s (or longer) in shocking poverty relying on esprit de corps, the old lie that they are "paying their dues", and pizza/donuts/coffee at "campaign HQ" or "in the field." Then there are a handful of Paul Manafort types grifting millions.

Yeah, I know they're not making money in the field, but it strikes me as something that mostly 'privileged' people go into in the first place. People who get their jobs as staffers because their dad knows someone. And their parents can always send them rent money between gigs.

Could be off-base though.
