There's a massive underwater cliff right offshore. You'll see reefs for like 300 meters out, then all of a sudden the ocean floor just ends and you can only see this massive wall that goes down to infinity. There are also huge sunfish down there, so instead of seeing little minnows you're seeing a fish that looks as big as an elephant.

If you aren't there to dive along that underwater cliff, there's no other reason to be on the island. The island itself has nothing to offer.

By the time I got there I understood Indonesian well enough to know that any time we were perusing any sort of market, the sellers would be calling out the minimum price any other seller should sell to us. If ur looking at a pair of sunglasses, and another Balinese merchant is also selling sunglasses nearby, they will tell the dood at your stall to charge no less than X amount, where X is 4 times whatever the sunglasses should cost.

It was even worse when I tried to take a bus. The bus driver had no problem with it but the taxi drivers didn't like it. They were already pissed at me for even standing at the bus stop, and they had words with the bus driver after I was boarded and seated, but before the bus driver could peel off and leave.
