I don't care about slippery (I have porcelain in florida that's 100x more slippery). But does smooth show cracks/scratches more than wirebrushed and starts to look beat up after 3 years? I plan to mostly vacuum does that work equally?

I just found out that with hardwood I'll have to remove the old floor (which costs 2x for work), while engineering wood I can just put right over because I have about .8" to the door and engineering wood standard is 5/16" while Harwood is 3/4"
