He would probably need to win 2 super bowls. He's been a better regular season QB than Eli Manning throughout most of their careers.

He needs a minimum of 1 SB + some more playoff success. His stats are very good in an era where everyone puts up good stats. But he's had some memorable bad losses and little clutch success, which hurts him. Eli and Roethlisberger separate themselves from the guys who've been in a group of top 5-15 QBs over the last 7-8 years by winning multiple rings.

I think you're underestimating both the skill cut and the importance of Super Bowl wins for QBs in hall of fame voting. By my quick scan there are only 3 non SB winning QBs in the HOF who started their career after the 1978 rules changes: Marino, Kelly, and Moon.

LOL just LOL

If he were a NBA player? Maybe, but their standards are pretty lax, all things considered.

If he were a MLB player? No. Hell no.

Since he's in the NFL ... project out his stats, pro bowls, and super bowls. But also important is to compare him to his contemporaries at his position. How does he ranks in that group?

Based on their historic body of work, I'd put these qbs ahead of him:

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, Donovan McNabb, Kurt Warner.

Based on projection, I'd list these qbs ahead of Romo:

Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck, Joe Flacco, RG3, Russell Wilson.

So, in sum ... no way in Hell. And LOL just LOL at you asking the question.

Oh, by the way, here's now I would rank the qbs with bodies of work I listed as of 2013:

Auto Admits:

Brady, Peyton Manning

Likely Admits:

Eli, Ben, Kurt Warner

Toss Ups:

Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees

Unlikely:

McNabb

How about that ... it tracks with Super Bowls. Romo can't reliably get his team to win more than 8 games a season.

I think you're wrong to have ben and eli ahead of rodgers and brees. Their regular season stats are not at all in the same league, and rodgers and brees are #1 and 2 in all-time playoff qb rating and have each won a superbowl.

We'll see. They have a lot of football left. But yardage/stats for qbs has changed in the past decade with the passing and now read-option offenses.

That's true but Brees is pretty much guaranteed to be in the top 4 all time passing yardage unless he gets Theismanned and has a good shot to pass Marino for #3.

That said LJL at Romo

despite being relatively mediocre talent-wise, he's been able to rack up insane regular season stats because Jerry Jones is totally in love with him

search other NFL teams; if they're not getting to the playoffs after a few years, the QB is usually GONE. Not in Dallas. It's literally been 10 god damn years of not making the playoffs....with the same QB.
