all three are objectively MASSIVELY overrated and mediocre.
they aren't in the same league with earlier waves of Brit rock bands. even the British bands of the 80s were significantly better.
'Britpop' was overly derivative, music-journalist hyped rubbish. it was 97% dreck. maybe like 4 or 5 songs even hold up today.
it's sort of analogous to people who went around saying 'The Strokes' were geniuses for being note-for-note Tribute Band level ripoffs of Television (right down to the goofy 'retro' haircuts and new-wave jackets, etc).
a pathetic anticlimax to 4 decades of British domination of Rock music, lacking any merit whatsoever on any level.
