It’s a relatively common thing for 6’5”/6’6” guys to be closer to ideal because your body gives you advantages in various sports (not just basketball, but football, swimming, etc.) so there’s a higher likelihood that you bother to lift and be in shape as a kid/young adult. Eg Gronk is 6’6” and seeing him in person wouldn’t cause most people to think “my God how freakishly tall he is” v “that dude is huge and looks strong.” But like a skinny 6’4” guy like Michael Phelps can look goofy and gangly.
