The real issue is that Khamenei is three years older than Biden (lol) and supposed to serve until 2032 (lolololol), but when he dies it will be the first mullah to take over with no direct tie to the revolution in 1979 (unless it’s Rouhani, but the IRGC won’t let that happen). This is all just preamble to what will pop off when Khamenei dies. I honestly think that’s Netanyahu’s angle ie the worst thing that could happen to the Israeli right is a collapse of the Iranian hardliners because it would mean Hamas and Hezbollah are fucked and they no longer have their justification for seeking all of the West Bank. Netanyahu and all the Israeli supremacists are doing everything they can to provoke a war before Khamenei dies to make sure the hardliners stay in control.
