I was testing my AYN Thor last night and tried out some Genesis Games. Chose, Beauty and the Beast (just scrolled down really fast and randomly chose it).

Even it had that signature scummy "Genesis" sound to the music and sound effect

Late SNES was a weird time. NAFTA hadn’t hit yet so $60 side scrollers weren’t seen as excessive. Now $70 Titles piss off legions of Losers.

Because you aren’t an actual video game enjoyer bc you’re Gen X. Games sucked in like 1982 so you didn’t get hooked early enough.

There were so many platformers during the NES/SNES era that were difficult for no reason, I thought I was bad at video games and then it turned out almost nobody could beat those games.

You are bad if you can’t beat them though. Yoshis Island? A lot of Eastern games are exquisitely designed and aren’t hard as they seem at first. This goes for Mega Man all the way up to Dark Souls.

A lot of you just don’t play games and never did. Earthworm Jim is incredibly hard compared to your memory of it. Ghouls n Ghosts is twice as hard as Super Ghouls n Ghosts. Genesis games are hard af and badass btw.

Another post from someone who doesn’t play games. Go download the Aladdin game, it’s on modern consoles atm and it’s not hard. If you think it’s hard it’s because you’re trying to beat it the first time in like 1 hour or less and get bored.

Lion King has one hard level bc it’s hard to differentiate the background from the foreground but once you do it’s nbd.

Actual hard games include stuff like Battletoads and getting the invincibility cheat in goldeneye, also every shoot ‘em up and every badass western game like X men for Genesis

It's because it was released at the tail end of the SNES run and if you were a normal kid back then you wouldn't have given a shit about SNES games cause you had a Playstation. There are many games like this for the NES and SNES because its usually at the end that programmers get very good at making games for a system, sad!
