As some sort over overcorrection from 2020. I’m suspicious of that.

She needed to come off as competent as well as differentiate herself from Biden. She did neither. Also, I actually think the VP debate was a turning point.

Agreed. My hindsight 20/20 review of Kamala's campaign is that in the wake of Biden dropping out, there was a major groundswell of enthusiasm for her, which obviously fizzled out beginning in September.
When looking back at this period in time I think that the reality is the Dem base moved to the left of Biden and when people were projecting who they wanted onto a blank slate, they were imagining someone with fairly left wing California politics. Libs actually want this zany stuff.
I always thought her win scenario was mobilization, not persuasion. Get everything lefty looney toon to the polls and hope you outnumber the other side.
By pivoting to the middle and becoming a neocon all she did was appropriate the same lack of enthusiasm by the base Biden had while not doing anything to ensnare the moderates and independents.
It was a missed opportunity to fire up the base with some real populist change and say we're gonna win and we're gonna shove all our crap down the other guys' throats. Threads would have gone nuts and all the media would be talking about is how transformative she was and Dem enthusiasm would be really high and Trumpmos would be seething.
Instead she campaigned with Liz Cheney, no one bought it, and she's done here.

I see major commentators saying that they’re disappointed that Harris has lost the enthusiasm that she so brilliantly was able to stoke in the first few weeks of her campaign and now she seems like she’s lost her touch. Personally, I don’t really see what she did to “stoke enthusiasm” in the first place.
Libs were demoralized after Biden exploded on the debate stage in June. They had hope for the first time that they had a chance to not lose in a landslide. Remember, Twitter leftists created the coconut and brat memes - not the campaign. Twitter leftists created the couch memes. The only thing the campaign created is the “they’re WEIRD” memes. It’s not like we were seeing some campaign masterstroke. They proceeded to run the same basement campaign strategy Biden ran last time. The only difference is that the basement strategy doesn’t work anymore because people have lived through four years of disastrous Dem policy.
So no, Kamala’s campaign didn’t “lose its juice”. It never had the juice, libs just psyoped themselves into believing it did.
