I should work ~4 years to have 3 million outside of 401k and house, but I'm seriously struggling with a desire to just liquidate crypto and pull the plug now
Probably will wait until I have at least 2 million in the brokerage without liquidating crypto, so a couple more years
Will for sure fuck off to another country to retire. It's not tenable to stay in America with the healthcare situation here |

I'm not much of a consumer, and you can live very comfortably in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, etc. on 50k euro. That will be substantially below my dividend and safe withdrawal rate. But places like Portugal and Spain have terrible tax regimes, which narrows the options a bit
If FX risk seems too high, I'll have to think about it very carefully. I don't want to go somewhere tropical like Panama or Thailand or something, but they are options |

I could have had an Italian passport if I acted a couple years ago. The law changed and now I can't get one without naturalizing. Didn't find out about that until recently and was really annoyed. Want to escape the US tax regime but don't think I can give up US citizenship unless some serious shit happens |
