It’s absolutely ridiculous that this garbage piece is filed under “business” and not “opinion” since it’s clearly propaganda.

Newsflash to liberals: the current dismantling of government and turn against neoliberalism is the REJECTION of a cultural revolution. The last decade or more has seen liberals engaging in struggle sessions, censoring “wrong think”, re-writing books to be “consistent with modern values”, forcing people out of jobs or schools for inappropriate speech, and colluding with social media companies to ensure only the “proper” opinions and views are spread. But Trump fires a few government workers and the most egregious of liberal public policies are rolled back (just do let teachers groom your kids!) and suddenly it’s 1966 again.

Lol. NYT: Trump rike Mao cause appointees no go Harvard

“The characteristics of authoritarian leaders, such as surrounding themselves with loyalists and trying to control the media, are not unique to China.

During the Cultural Revolution, Mao promoted a semiliterate peasant to the office of vice premier and a low-level cadre at a textile mill to be his deputy at the age of 38.

For his third term, Mr. Xi has surrounded himself with loyalists, many of whom did not go to elite Chinese universities.”

HBS doesn't have an UG program. Why would Trump have needed an MBA after already attending Wharton UG?

Yeah faggot. If you rebel against us, you are the Red Guard. If you question our authority, you are the Cultural Revolution. If you reject the neoliberal world order, you are becoming the chaos we once opposed.

lol at this desperate attempt to keep people locked in the binary of acceptable rebellion—one where the only legitimate form of resistance is safe, polite, and ultimately ineffective. Because you people fear a reckoning. And you should.

The CIA’s fingerprints are all over it. The American intelligence apparatus has been refining the use of historical weaponization for decades—turning past events into present-day ideological munitions. They don’t want you to actually understand history; they want you to react to it in a pre-scripted way. They deploy references like a conjurer waving his hand, hoping the audience will be too entranced to notice the trick.

The sleight of hand on “we aren’t gonna tell you whats dangerous we are going to get “Chinese dissidents” to do it for us is also lulzy. Just some good old objective journalism reporting what other people think, right?

The cultural revolution analogy is interesting because, in a way, the establishment is the Red Guard—intolerant, ideological, enforcing a new dogma through public humiliation and digital struggle sessions. But they miscalculated. The more they demand submission, the more they invite a counterforce that does not wish to submit.
