Elon Musk has given all of his critics an incredible gift by faking his Path of Exile 2 account in a way that is so obvious that it would be impossible for anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of video games to deny.

Elon has been regularly streaming with someone else’s account, apparently that of a Chinaman he has hired to build the account for him, while pretending it is his own account. During the streams, he demonstrates virtually no understanding of the game, and yet apparently expects fans of the game to believe he is one of the best players in the world.

Though Elon’s video game hobby might seem like a small thing, the extreme form of fraud he has engaged in exposes his entire character. Further, the bizarre nature of how he has committed the fraud proves that he is fundamentally a weird, stupid person.

The media has covered this some, after basically everyone in the PoE community called him out as a fraud (a video from Quin, one of the top players, mocking him went especially viral, and is being cited by various outlets).

There are a lot of videos of top players doing this which you can find on YouTube. There are zero videos responding and claiming it’s really Elon’s character, because that claim would be impossible to make.

However, I don’t think others commenting on this are really going into how deranged this actually is. Frankly, it is one of the single most bizarre things I’ve ever seen in my life, and I’m having some difficulty processing the fact that it is actually real.

Absurd Fraud

I have only played PoE2 for a few hours on PS5, which is not really the ideal platform for this type of game. However, I’m relatively familiar with the genre, and I’ve been keeping up with some of the streamers. I will need to go through some of the details about the game for those who are not familiar so you can understand how absurd this is. Anyone who is familiar can simply watch two minutes of his stream and see that he is a complete fraud. (If you’re not interested in these details, and trust me that he’s a fraud, you can skip to the next section where I will analyze the implications of this unfathomable fraud.)

Path of Exile 2 was just released in December of last year. It is an “Action Role-Playing Game” (ARPG) in the vein of Activision-Blizzard’s Diablo series. Because it is created by Chinamen instead of trannies, it is much better than Blizzard’s offerings.

With the game being so new, the people who are ranked as high as Elon’s characters are ranked have to both be playing it more or less every single waking hour, and they also have to have developed efficient gameplay strategies. The game has a very high skill ceiling. In a year or two, there will be people who have put in 10-20 hours a week who will be really good, but because the game is so new, anyone who is top-tier right now has to have totally no-lifed it since early December.

In Elon’s streams, you can see that he lacks a basic understanding of the game’s mechanics, which means he could not possibly have put very many hours into it. I am of the strong opinion that Elon is stupid, so it’s possible that he could have played it for dozens of hours and still not grasped the way it works, but at this point, this low level of intelligence he has would preclude him from ever being a top player, and again, dozens of hours of gameplay would not ever be enough to get him to the level his character is at.

There is a public list of ranked characters. Elon is playing in “hardcore mode,” which means that if he dies, he is kicked out of the ranking. His previous character, which died earlier this month, made it #59 in the ranking.

The basic claim he is making is that he is playing this game at least 80 hours a week. Just as a baseline matter, to get to that rank at this point in the game’s cycle, he would have to be playing that much (and would also need to be playing very efficiently). You can go on Twitch and see the above mentioned Quin or other top players and see how much they are online. So it’s weird to begin with that he would announce to the world that while supposedly running multiple companies and also manipulating the Trump administration and trying to interfere with various governments across the world, he is also playing video games 12 hours a day.

Please note that I am not against video games. Though I am not a pro gamer, I’m pro-gamer, and I think people who claim that playing video games is a “waste of time” are fools. Video games are fun and relaxing and they can allow you to remove yourself from your stresses and focus your mind-energies on something that is totally outside of your own life. Frankly, I wouldn’t even blame someone who has the free time for playing a new game a lot when it first comes out, as long as they are keeping up with their responsibilities. Frankly, playing a game 12 hours a day over a weekend is fine, as long as you get back to work on Monday and you don’t make it a regular habit.

However, the level of gameplay Elon is claiming to be engaged in simply by claiming he got to #59 in the hardcore ladder is not something anyone should do, with the one exception being if they are making a lot of money streaming it. Most of the people who are in the top ranks on PoE2 are Asians (mostly Chinese because they are the biggest population in Asia, but you also see some people who appear to be Thais and Filipinos on the ranking list). They are presumably the lazy children of rich people.

It does not make sense that Elon Musk would want to advertise to the investors in his companies, and to people in the Trump administration, as well as the leaders of the world, that he is spending 12 hours a day playing a video game. That simply is not reasonable.

However, he is clearly not doing that. His streams show that while he has some basic understanding of the game, the amount of knowledge that a normal person would pick up in maybe two hours, he doesn’t understand any of the complex mechanics of the game, at all.

What he is doing is paying someone who is extremely good at the game to build the account for him, which he can then go on stream and claim is his.

Though these examples won’t mean much to people who don’t play the game, I will list some of the things that have been noted about his streams (you can skip this part if you don’t care, the analysis we’ll get to later is what is important, but I want to include these observations for the record):

He doesn’t understand the maps in the game. He spent 20 seconds trying to click on a grayed-out map location. When the location is gray, it means you are not eligible to enter the map.

He is not using an item filter. This is a very basic modification you need to use in the game to ensure you can collect important items for your character. Notably, this is something that is set in local computer settings, so of course the person who built the account would use a filter, but when Elon logs in, he would need to set it up in his own settings, which he did not do.

Because his filter is off, he leaves a “chaos orb,” one of the most important items in the game, on the ground.

He doesn’t understand the nature of the gear in the game. In Diablo 4, an infinitely dumber game which Elon probably has played a bit, the gear’s level marks its quality. However, in PoE2, the level of the gear is not relevant to its quality at all, the quality being based on a complex series of attributes attached to the gear. When going through his gear on stream, he shows what is clearly the best possible gear anyone could hope to get, and then says it is not that good because of the level attached to it. He makes no comment at all about the attributes of the gear, which would have been interesting to comment on, given that most players have never seen gear like that. (His “ghost player” is clearly buying the gear with real money, presumably thousands of dollars’ worth of real money.)

At one point when picking items up off the ground, he opens his inventory and drags the items one by one, instead of simply clicking them. This makes picking up the items take 5-10 times longer. This is something that was particularly shocking, as anyone who had played any video game at all would not do this, unless they had a very low IQ and no ability to understand simple things in general.

Any single one of these things would prove that he has no understanding whatsoever of the game. It he was playing on normal mode and at the end of Act 2 (maybe 6 hours in), I would not believe he had actually played that much. Every item listed above is something that any child would have figured out in the first two hours or so (significantly less for people with experience in the genre).

Furthermore, he does not know any of the language of the game. At one point, he refers to endgame map mods as “things.” This implies that he has not watched any videos of other players playing, or read any material about the game, or is perhaps incapable of absorbing information in the way a normal person does.

What Even is This?

I cannot stress enough that no one who has played PoE2 at all, or any other game from the genre, and frankly, any video games at all, would believe he had built this character he is playing with himself. That is true even if you believe he is in a position to play video games 80 hours a week (and presumably, just the amount of tweeting he does would make this impossible, never mind whatever real work or family time he supposedly does).

Every person who plays the game and sees Elon’s stream is going to be outraged. It is infuriating to see someone making these claims that he is among the best players in the world while not having a basic understanding of the game. While having someone play his account for him is not in itself offensive, the offense comes from his apparent belief that gamers are stupid enough to believe this fraud.

He could easily have said “I’ve played a lot of Diablo 4 and I’m trying to get into PoE2, so I had someone build me a character, I’m going to see how it goes.” He wouldn’t need to be on hardcore mode. He could also just make his own character and then stream and say “yeah, I’m not great at the game yet, it’s a lot more complicated than D4, but I’m just trying to have some fun and relax.” Instead, for whatever reason, he wants people to believe he is among the best, and doesn’t even put the effort in to try to make that believable.

Remember that at one point, he changed his entire online identity to “Kekius Maximus,” which was the name of his PoE2 character. He is really presenting this as a huge part of his life, and it makes no sense. It is honestly just frustrating to think about what is going through this man’s head.

The only reason I can see that he would want to make this game a big part of his public identity would be to appeal to players of the game, or probably gamers in general. Gamers make up a big portion of the population, and with PoE2 specifically, likely close to 100% of players of this game are people who are angry about H-1Bs. So as a PR move, it’s logical enough to associate himself with this game immediately after his H-1B “fuck your face” fiasco. But again, if he would have just played normally, as a normal person, that would gain him significant love from gamers. By doing what he is doing with this fake account, he is making people hate him. Everyone is calling this guy a fraud.

It’s possible that people who don’t know anything at all about video games – which is a very small population if you are talking about men under the age of 40, who I would assume are his target audience – would believe he is just very good at video games. But what is the purpose of making those people believe that? I can’t think of any reason that would be good for him. And now, those people are seeing these articles saying that the gamer community is calling him a fraud.

None of this even makes any sense.

Elon Musk is Very Stupid

Let’s imagine a situation where Elon had paid someone to boost his account but also made a genuine attempt to look like he had done it himself, but then someone finds something suspicious and suspects it’s not really his account. Say, for example, someone finds that his maps tab is called “Elon’s Maps,” and people find it hard to believe a human would put their own name in their maps tab.

That would be embarrassing for him, perhaps. But it wouldn’t be like this.

Again: no 11-year-old who plays this game could watch five minutes of Elon’s stream and not see that he is committing fraud. And it is just simply incredible that he is not himself aware of how obvious this is. That is why gamers are so outraged. It’s not simply that he’s paying someone to boost his account, but the fact that he thinks people are stupid enough to believe he did it himself.

I’ve always argued that Elon is far from the genius that the media has claimed he is. I’ve argued that he is rather dumb. Just the way he talks demonstrates that he’s dumb. I’ve never heard him say anything insightful, even once, and his mode of speech makes him seem borderline retarded. If you met a gas station manager that talked like that, you would say “how the hell did this guy become the manager?” and then conclude that his dad must own the gas station. The media argues that he is an autistic genius, and people who think he sounds retarded when he talks are just not smart enough to “get it.” That is an obvious “emperor who has no clothes” type thing.

However I’ve also said “well, even if everything he’s doing is a scam, he has to at least have some level of intelligence to have run all these scams and gotten all this money.” I’m now reevaluating that and trying to understand his financial success in light of this fake gamer situation. Frankly, I now believe it is possible that he is literally some kind of frontman, and all of his businesses are run like his PoE2 account, with unnamed people doing all of the work for him.

This Applies to Everything Elon Does, Forever

With the fake PoE2 account, Elon has committed an extreme form of fraud. Obviously, it’s not the kind of fraud that hurts anyone, but it also doesn’t benefit him in any way. If he is willing to commit fraud for no benefit, and in fact commit fraud that harms him, how much more willing would he be to commit fraud that benefits him financially?

It’s common for people to believe that if they catch someone lying about one thing that they’re probably lying about other things as well. However, that doesn’t necessarily always work, because a person who is generally honest in business might lie about something relatively harmless in order to avoid embarrassment. A politician who wants to have any success at all has to lie about Israel, even if he has otherwise good intentions (that’s a bit more murky, but you understand my point).

But this is a massive fraud that Elon has committed with this fake PoE2 account, and it is not being done to protect his ego by avoiding embarrassment or as part of some strategic political calculus. He’s doing it for literally no reason.

Although I don’t put much credence in “psychological research” in general, as so much of it can’t be tested in a scientific way, there is ample evidence that “pathological liars” exist. These are people who lie all the time, and will lie even when the truth would be beneficial to them.

Fraud is a type of lying, but it is a specific type of lying where you attempt to deceive people in order to gain an advantage over them (it is also typically more elaborate than a lie, the latter being a simple statement). In this case, the purpose of the PoE2 fraud is apparently to get people to buy into the idea that Elon is a genius and is capable of running companies, running the Trump administration, and also being a pro-tier gamer. But what it demonstrates is that he is incapable of doing anything without committing fraud. He is a pathological scam artist.

And again, it demonstrates more severely than anything I’ve ever seen him do that he is unbelievably stupid. Even if he has a psychological defect that prevents him from being able to do anything without committing fraud, if he would have spent a couple hours watching YouTube videos about PoE2, he could have made it at least plausible that he was actually playing his account. He just didn’t bother.

Can His Scams Go on Indefinitely?

People have been predicting the downfall of Tesla for a long time. Tesla is currently the biggest fraud in the world, and I agree with the comparisons that many are making to Enron (if you’re unfamiliar, the Wikipedia page on the Enron scandal is fine).

However, Enron went down because of shareholder investigations into very suspicious accounting regarding the company’s profits. With Tesla, because the company exists in this ultra-inflated “growth stock” category, the price-to-earnings ratio is public and people are apparently fine with just going on faith.

One would have thought that the rising awareness of the superiority of Chinese EVs would have decimated Tesla, but the media has done a fair enough job covering up the developments China has made over the last five years, and the US government has done an incredible job outlawing the importing of Chinese vehicles. However, this has caused Elon to commit yet another fraud, claiming to have designed the world’s most advanced robots and claiming that these robots will be for sale very soon for $30,000.

This is a repeat of the “Full Self-Driving” (FSD) thing, where there is no evidence that the product will ever exist, and everyone is just expected to take Elon’s word for it. The robots he displayed at Tesla’s last event were literally just puppets, operated by a human. This is not a real robot. A human-operated electronic device in the shape of a person is something that has existed for decades.

There is much to say about the various other frauds he’s engaged in with Tesla, but that’s beyond our scope here. Whether or not Tesla is able to operate indefinitely is based on several factors:

Whether or not people continue to believe in Elon, and to believe his obviously false claims that Tesla FSD, Tesla AGI, and Tesla humanoid robots are just around the corner.

Whether or not the US government continues subsidizing the company (subsidies, in particular the “carbon credit” thing, make up at least half of the company’s value).

Whether or not the US government is willing to continue banning all competitors as well as forcing Europe to do the same.

Whether or not the media will continue with their willingness to go along with this charade.

Another element to consider here is that many people invested in Tesla know it is a scam and a fake company but think they can make money along with Elon. It’s impossible to know what percentage of people are in that category, but I’m quite certain that the biggest investors all know it’s a scam (this was also the case with Enron). While those people could keep the company afloat, it could also lead to a cascading dump.

Elon’s MAGA Fraud: It’s All a Scam

It’s important to understand that Elon’s interest in electing Donald Trump was entirely based on wanting to prevent the hammer coming down on him. After the H-1B debacle, I think it’s clearly impossible for anyone to believe he actually cares about America. I disagree with most of the MAGA people at this point, at least the ones with significant influence, as most of them have become at least partially neocon in their orientation, including people like Steve Bannon, who is trying to overthrow the government of China for reasons he is too plastered off his gourd to even begin to explain. However, I do believe Steve loves America. He is getting paid by various Chinese fugitives to promote weird shit, and he no doubt needs the money, but I think most of his sentiments are genuine. Elon is not in this category. No one who supports flooding America with Indians to replace the American workforce cares about America, and it’s impossible to make that claim. Elon is purely involved in all of this to make money (and maybe because he likes the attention).

I think it’s also possible that Elon is attempting to make himself some kind of emperor, but that is a bigger issue, and it’s obviously not something very serious, given how stupid we know he is.

The fate of Tesla doesn’t really matter to me, beyond the fact that I want to see Elon fail because he’s a bad person. However, getting him away from Trump should be a priority for everyone. I agree with him about cutting taxes and reducing the size of government, obviously, but that’s something that everyone agrees on. It’s not something unique he’s bringing to the table, and I don’t think he is competent enough to actually accomplish anything in this area.

A person who is this fundamentally dishonest should not be anywhere near the levers of power, and the fact he is apparently making all of Trump’s decisions for him is very concerning. In some ways, he could potentially be worse than Jared Kushner.

Fake gamers are the lowest scum. Elon Musk is the Apex of Filth.
