No practice, no training, no coach.

You just do one run with all the right gear and you get $500 whether you land it or crash.

assuming i can do this after i have broken the single season stolen base record and score 10+ points in an NBA postseason game (provided I am playing the whole time), then sure, I'd have tons of confidence and that's half the battle with the ski jump

You don’t have to go far, it’s perfectly fine to go as slow as possible and crash safely.

Any time to train with a coach before? In that Eddie the Eagle movie seemed like a guy with zero athleticism and down syndrome was able to do this well enough to make the olympics so given that all we need to do is survive should be doable w some PreP.

Ski jumps have those little tracks for each ski, so you can't make your skis into a wedge or slalom down the hill. Once you're going, you're going.

I'm a decent skier. There is a very good chance I'd make it down the track and to the jump unscathed. After that, I'd put my odds at:

40%--stick the landing, or at least land with a tumble that doesn't cause any injuries

30%--land with a big tumble, but no broken bones, able to walk away

20%--break ankle, arm, back, etc., but minor enough that I heal in a few months

9%--huge injuries, multiple breaks requiring surgies

1%--death or serious disability

$500 is not nearly worth it, though it would be fun. $50,000 and we're talking.
