lol remember how no taxes on tips was Kamala's first specific policy proposal, more than a month after her campaign began? and she stole it directly from Trump?

"shit policy" - by encouraging people to work overtime? Explain to me how that is bad policy. For tips - why is it bad policy to tax "gratuity?" I don't know, maybe there are arguments as to why TAXING these things is a good thing, I just can't fathom what they could be.

In answering, assume I'm a complete fucking idiot, tyia

What is the reasoning for not taxing on tips?

Not a tax lawyer, but this seems to be something that certain crafty individuals can really take advantage of

those crafty people don't need this and it could be easily be made worthless for talmudic accounting with a modest cap. first $30k of tips don't get taxed or something.

the ostensible reason is that people working for tips need a tax break.

the real reason is that it buys votes. compounded by the fact that it's nearly costless since no one is reporting their tips anyway.

how much revenue are we talking about here? cons got a big win with the working class for a tax cut that may actually reach the working class somewhat.

Yeah, rongtime trumpmo here, but I don't get it.

Why is that income treated differently than the income that a McDonald's wagecuck earns? Or any w2 employee?

I mean, it clearly seemed to be a ploy to get women and youngs to vote for him, but I don't understand it beyond that.

As I understand it, when tips were mainly cash they were never declared so same dif as no tax. But now everyone uses a card so way more tips had to be declared.

Tip $.01 on card and leave cash tip.

Computers at most restaurants assume 10% cash-tip on bills paid w/ cash or a credit card w/ no tip.
