Not at all. To the extent it exported people, they were mercenaries hired by various rich kangdoms. They were horsemen with no loyalty to anyone except whoever was paying.

YES!

But "scythians" just means people who use scythes, which is a tool for harvesting wheat. The horsemen were not fighting with scythes

What's your proposed solution? Maybe you can play defense against them but killing them is going to be difficult.

idk, get your own archers and fuck them up anytime they ride in close enough? Just seems they were overly dominant

It was a blip on the overall timeline from the younger dryas to the present. For most of the time people were growing rice in China, no one was shooting arrows on horseback anywhere on earth, and once it started happening Chinese authorities took measures to deal with it permanently.

The Ukrainian flag represents blue skies over golden fields of wheat. Ukraine was known even in ancient times for producing a lot of fucking wheat. Egypt wasn't the only major wheat producer in the ancient world, there was also Scythia.

"One new finding is that the Scythians couldn’t eat fruit– many of them had fructose intolerance. As pastoralists, they likely lived on meat and dairy and bartered for grain."
