They have been stuck there for around 12 hours, and due to severe weather conditions. They are trapped in sub-zero temperatures in a state of hypothermia.
The trio are reservists aged 27-28 and became trapped after straying from the marked snowboarding trail. A rescue team is making its way to the three young Israelis, according to Ynet.
During the rescue operations, Israel's ambassador to Japan, Gilad Cohen, spoke with the US ambassador to the country, Rahm Emanuel, who instructed US military forces in Japan to stand by to assist, the Ynet report added.
The Foreign Ministry announced that they had been working with local authorities to resolve the situation and rescue the trapped Israelis.

Complex rescue situation Rescue teams have been unable to reach them because their location near a river is making the situation more complex.
Their phone was left at 15%, and they have remained in contact with Magnus rescue and have been receiving instructions on how to stay warm and survive the night. |
