When the Indians were giving us corn, they weren't just giving us any old random corn. They had this one sugary variety that was totally different from the flint corn they normally ate. Birshits were such sugar addicts by that time only the sweetest variety of maize would satisfy them. That's why Mexicans today still don't eat sweetcorn.
