it's not excusable anymore in the era of 'big data.' we know that a relatively small percentage of people with sociopathic tendencies or inborn low-impulse-control commit an outsized portion of violent crimes. modern tech makes it easier than ever to identify them correctly.
going soft on them means you prefer more violent crime rather than less. it's an explicit choice in favor of a shittier society. and that should be called out for being fundamentally evil. not just a difference of opinion, but outright demonic at best.
