This analysis argues that the DSA’s rise - driven by demographic shifts, economic concentration, and the failure of the Western redemptive egregore - is not an organic grassroots movement but the next iteration of controlled opposition. The DSA is permitted and amplified by the apex because it offers a redemptive container for popular resentment while remaining structurally incapable of threatening the apex itself. Its policies will follow the COVID template: concentrating wealth at the top, distributing a fraction to the lower classes, and eviscerating the upper-middle class.

I am reading this, but one thing stuck out:
"while leaving the upper elites ($100B+) untouched"
I mean, if that is your definition of upper elites, how many people even is that? 12? 25? And your definition of "upper-middle and upper class wealth ($2M–$1B+ net worth)" is too wide IMO.
TBH, maybe it depends on where you live, but $2m or $3m net worth can be a pretty great and free life.
I appreciate you mentioning EROEI in your piece. IMO everything stems from that because declining EROEI per capita is what drives the increase in debt. If energy growth per capita continued growing, we wouldn't have any of the issues we have. Arguably, we wouldn't even have the level of automation in technology that we have (which came about in part because of a need to drive returns in a world where EROEI was not increasing as fast as historically.)
Will read the whole post. Thanks.

"I mean, if that is your definition of upper elites, how many people even is that? 12? 25?"
It's a small number of central bank owning families and top allies who are not subject to the snatch and grab theft that lower layers of the wealthy are subject to - the exact number is hard to determine. Basically anyone with great wealth whose wealth is either structural to the system (international finance elites) or liquid enough to transfer (hence the Google owners example), which excludes those with substantial real estate holdings and hard assets who are already being targeted. I link it in the post but escape key describes the structural wealth of the Rothschild family which isn't seizable without targeting that layer specifically: https://escapekey.substack.com/p/the-rothschild-nexus
"And your definition of "upper-middle and upper class wealth ($2M–$1B+ net worth)" is too wide IMO."
Yes, it is very wide and perhaps overbroad, but it's intended to demarcate the range of asset holders who are not necessarily shielded and protected by upper layer power. The California "billionaire tax" pushed by DSA types is proof that those below a certain level are being targeted even if wealthy.

I don't think it's anything more than an appetite for national health care comparable to Euros (despite unrealistic expectations on deliverables) and cheaper housing. Deliver the two, problem solved. The leadership of DSA are extreme ideologues but the people voting for them aren't.
If Republicans are smart, they should just get Kaiser to expand their HMOs into a national public healthcare.
As for cheaper housing, problem is broke overeducated people concentrating themselves in NYC/Seattle/SF/Boston/LA/DC but they are good at driving the narrative. But those areas are all controlled by Dems, but as you know, Dems never like to actually fix their problems.

The bigger problem is that the goalposts are always moved. In part because massive systems are blamed for problems that are caused at the individual level. e.g.) poor health outcomes for black people compared to white people gets blamed on "The System" even though it is driven by individual decisions as shown in aggregated statistics. And the decision making by individuals across groups is effectively baked in the cake. So the masses will never be happy.
What is sick, and what I think Consuela gets at in general across his writing, is that this is known by The Powers That Be who then use the endless agitation to control the population.
Even talking about some HMO idea is just feeding into it. The best thing a person can do, in my view, is to do whatever they can to walk away from the whole situation. (TT vindicated yet again!!)

yes, you capture the general sentiment here. the elites control the masses by dividing them on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc., so they are too busy infighting to focus on upper elite theft
unfortunately the masses just want to be told what to do by somebody, anybody, because the horrors of the Void are too difficult (and energetically expensive) for most people to hold by themselves
i agree with you that retreating from the noetic commons and Current Thing is good overall, but even doing so is no panacea: we are all still subject to massive inflation and the societal degredation caused by elite policies (poisoning of food, water, air, mass immigration etc)
