If you are considering the purchase of a new or pre-owned BMW vehicle and you are wondering if you should choose one with the Steptronic Transmission, then ask yourself this question, “What type of driver are you?” Are you the type of driver that likes to sit back and enjoy the vehicle’s engine as it shifts from gear to gear for you, or do you like to be more engaged with the vehicle and do the gear shifting yourself? With the BMW Steptronic Transmission, you have the option to do both; the freedom to choose which way you would like to drive. This highly advanced transmission system has been designed to give drivers the most flexibility possible, without detracting from the driving experience. After all, choosing a BMW is about performance and the Ultimate Driving Machine.

probably only $5000 to replace that transmission a lot of 10 year old BMW headlights have the tendency to melt requiring replacement

if you're a goy that goes to a (((BMW mechanic))) the will charge $650 for each headlight + $1000 for labor

so you get $2500 to replace your headlights

I would charge that too if you paid that much for a car but you're too stupid to replace a headlight. Can you replace the bulbs with LEDs at least or does the dealer put another halogen bulb in there?

You're supposed to aim them when you install them for that exact reason. It reduces the risk of head-on collisions, they say

Lol $600 for a Chinese aftermarket headlight maybe. An OEM one is like $1500-3000 depending on if you have the laser headlights or no

i mean you can put as much money as you want into the headlights of a $10k car (which should cost $5k)

$2500 is the figure they throw around

Seems like the cr move is to keep an eye out for headlights and grab them when you spot a bargain, then go shopping for a car that's compatible with those headlights. Too bad u have to pop the trunk to get at them or I'd probably just steal some.

10 year old BMW should have HID headlights. D2S bulb probably. Can buy a replacement bulb from Philips/Osram for like 100-150.

New BMWs don't have manual transmissions. The automanual (ZF) tranny is standard. It's a great transmission, I don't see any downsides.

I'm sure but ultimately it kinda defeats the purpose of an automatic doesn't it? Shifting isn't really an issue on the highway, and stop and go traffic is what kills your DCT.

One time I was trying to reverse park and the car started beeping loud like I was about to hit something, the gas pedal locked and everyone outside was looking at me
