I know a Boomer with a sweet model train collection. He focuses on some certain brand and mostly collects valuable vintage pieces. Between that and the stamps, dude has a not-so-small fortune in that room. I think he collects Commonwealth countries from some time period, he has some countries complete collections for like decades.

It is a cool hobby, especially to share with kids or grandkids. These dudes spend thousands of hours on their sets with tweezers, glue, and little pieces of lichen, etc. to get them just right.

No idea if growing or not. My grandpa used to take me to these conventions with tons of people. I see the setups at county fairs now and they're mostly staffed by old dudes with conductor hats and overalls.
