I'll just list places I was in and I saw it in exactly 0: Saltillo, Monterrey, San Luis Potosí, CDMX, Orizaba, Veracruz, Villahermosa, Cuidad del Carmen, Merida, Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. All driving, no flying, so it isn't like I'm some tourist staying on some gringo resort where they will hide that shit from me. And that's just on a fairly recent trip. Now keep in mind, I had a large great pyrenees with a very low shit tolerance so if one of them came at me my primary concern would very quickly become holding her back rather than what the crazy tranny would do. Mexicans generally have a very broad expectations that dogs like her will bite with even the slightest provocation (a number of Mexicans complimented me on how nice she was which is lol). Date: April 22nd, 2025 1:54 PM Author: .,.,...,..,.,.,:,,:,.,.,:::,...,:,...:..:.,:.::,. In some ways safer than in CDMX. Idk how familiar you are with driving throughout Mexico but here are some rules:
1. Stick to the toll roads as much as possible. Yes, they're expensive. They're incomparably safer.
2. Know what places to avoid. They're not always obvious. For example, Acapulco is now extremely dangerous. Border areas are generally obscenely dangerous. Easily the sketchiest part of driving through Mexico was the first hour across the border.
3. Don't drive at night if at all possible. I ended up doing that a few times and was ok but generally not a great idea. You won't see the potholes and in certain parts that will destroy any car you drive. In particular, highway 180 nearly did me in and caused some major damage.
4. Even on toll roads be careful of the mountain roads. Some of the grades and turns are VERY rough. You'll see a bunch of grave markers all around them and also various religious statues and such to help protect you, but really you should drive very slowly and carefully.
5. Having a huge and scary dog with you is a wonderful idea. Bonus points if she has perfect sense of when to bark like cujo and jump against the glass if she senses someone is up to no good. |

But Orizaba is actually destination. Yeah, I believe it with the mountain roads. People were driving shocking fast considering the roads. And keep in mind, I had a newish 4WD SUV. |

Unlike in the US, there are checkpoints all over the country where they check everyone's documents and if you have an expired visa they're taking you in. By the way, they fully expect you to speak Spanish and if you don't then that is your problem.
Though I'll note 2 things: 1. I drove through all of Mexico and didn't really see any "no gringo" signs, though I met plenty of Mexicans who obviously had a dim view of gringos (but fewer than you would meet in Italy or France, for example). I did see many anti-Israel signs which is lol, especially considering they elected a Jewish president. 2. Most of the people being told to gtfo aren't Mexican. |
