a lot of the most popular games are basically job-style grinds. gta online players openly talk about their 'grinding' strategies, and how much $GTA they would need to 'retire,' which usually means playing the game in a more relaxed fashion rather than min-maxing and actively strategizing at every moment for in-game cash.

it's basically several hundred mini-games scrambled and served together under a common framework. it's one of the weirdest and most bizarre game structures i can think of for new players due to the massive number of overlapping and conflicting elements inside of the game's world.
